Interesting links and texts from previous years on my Facebook: 2/3

A so-called cleric in Saudi Arabia claims that the Earth doesn't move. The Telegraph article: http://goo.gl/oiEj6I

Three scary things:
1) Sheikh Bandar al-Khaibari is supposed to be educated
2) This was during a university lecture in Saudi Arabia
3) His silliness was actually an answer to a student who asked if the Earth moves or not - so maybe university degrees from this region shouldn't be taken very seriously

Yet another reason to boycott United Arab Emirates - not only do they abuse basic rights for humans and women in particular, but people like this idiot actually have power and are respected there.

If you are in a long-term relationships, watch this TED talk with Esther Perel: http://goo.gl/Ks7DM

Perel explains how we often expect our beloved to be both best friend and erotic partner. But she argues that good AND committed sex draws on two conflicting needs - our need for security, and our need for surprise.

So how do you sustain desire? With wit and eloquence, Perel lets us in on the mystery of erotic intelligence.

Highly recommended!

I'm using the pomodoro technique to transcribe a two hour interview for a magazine, using a free program called Focus Booster: www.focusboosterapp.com

It slices work into 25 minute sessions, followed by a five minute break. Simple, but it really works!
